Government forces on Tuesday launched a cordon-and-search operation at Chankhan area of Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
A police officer told that following inputs about the presence of some militants, a joint team of army's 52 RR, SOG and CRPF laid a cordon at Chankhan at around 6:25 pm. When reports last came in, the cordon amid searches were going on in the area.
